HAI LI 5 C/W WAN HAI A17

* We have received reports that general cargo ship, HAI LI 5 (MMSI: 412356350) came into contact with container ship, WAN HAI A17, in the waters off Guangzhou, China on 25 October 2025 and subsequently sank.

* It is not currently clear if HAI LI 5 was in a laden condition at the time of the collision.

* Sadly, 2 members of the crew are reported to be missing following the incident.

* WAN HAI A17 (IMO: 9968528) is reported to have been on a rotational voyage calling Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Guangzhou, Shekou (China), Singapore, Jebel Ali (UAE) and Dammam (Saudia Arabia) and may be laden with up to 13,100 TEUs of containerised and temperature sensitive cargo.

* It is reported to be in a stable condition and has subsequently berthed at Nansha Port, China for inspection and investigations into the cause of the collision.

* It is possible that Recovery issues may arise in respect of any cargo stowed on board HAI LI 5 and we therefore recommend that you contact us should you be concerned with any cargo on board that vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
