LAAX

* We have received reports that bulk carrier, LAAX (IMO: 9512355) was targeted by three missiles said to be launched by Houthi rebels in a position approximately 55 nautical miles south west of Hodeidah, Yemen on 28 May 2024.

* It is reported that the vessel sustained damage to its cargo hold as a consequence of the missile strike and experienced an ingress of water and subsequently developed a list.

* Further reports indicate that the vessel may also have sustained damage as a result of a second missile strike later the same day.

* We understand that the vessel is attempting to make for its next intended port of call at Fujairah, United Arab Emirates for inspection, and possibly, repairs.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
