HISTRIA ATLAS

* We have received reports that combined chemical and oil tanker HISTRIA ATLAS (IMO:9800790), suffered an engine failure at Kumkale point in the Canakkle strait, on 20 May 2024.

* It is reported that the repairs could not be carried out by the crew and the vessel was later taken under tow to Bozcaada Island anchorage.

* Reports suggest that the vessel has to pay salvage expenses before being granted authority to depart.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with the cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
