Report	* We have received reports that container ship MSC Elaine experienced a loss of control and ran aground on departure from Gioia Tauro Port, Italy, on 9 January 2023. * In an attempt to refloat the vessel it is reported that she is being assisted by up to four tugs. It is possible that General Average, Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
